Deborah Carlson has maintained her own glass studio since 1984, creating gallery, museum,
and architectural work in any and all techniques of glass: cold, warm and hot. Her works and
commissions can be found in national and international permanent collections, museums,
galleries, private residences, and public installations.
Her art glass education includes studying
under the world's best and most creative glass masters from the USA, Canada, Mexico, and
Italy. She is a regular featured writer, has her work shown and articles written about her in glass
magazines, newspapers, and art center publications across the country.
She has taught at Penland School of Crafts, Art Glass Invitational, and various other smaller venues across the country. Deborah, recently, performed a month's artist-in-residence in Taiwan, where she
lectured and the National Educational University, demonstrated, and built studio torchworking
equipment for a University program. She has work in the permanent collection Hsinchu City
Glass Museum in Taiwan, and is an invited artist for the upcoming 2014 10th Anniversary
International Glass Festival held at the museum.
